Chips, the small and hidden gods of everything

Chips, often invisible but practically indispensable, are at the heart of the entire digital world. “There is no digital without chips” is the slogan under which the European Chips Act has been developed, our continent’s response to the semiconductor crisis in the post-pandemic era. Microelectronics is barely 75 years old but is one of those exponential technologies that make our world a “new world” every few years. The talk aims to communicate in an engaging way the history and technology behind chips, something that, due to its significance, should be part of general knowledge—not just for digital professionals but for everyone.

Where is the missing talent? From new generations to new challenges

In a world where finding the right talent seems harder than ever, a key question arises: where is the missing talent, and how can we attract it? This event isn’t about repeating the usual talent management ideas. We’ll challenge what no longer works, explore how new generations think, understand why remote and hybrid work are here to stay, and see how freelance and fractional talent are changing the game. Forget the old formulas. Here, we’ll talk about what’s really happening. Why is talent no longer just looking for a “good job”? How do new generations think and make decisions? What role do hybrid work and freelance talent play in the future of organizations?

Is eXtreme Programming (XP) still relevant nowadays?

In the world of software development, it is crucial to continuously assess the relevance of established methodologies. Join us for a thought-provoking panel discussion on whether eXtreme Programming (XP) still has value in today’s fast-paced projects.

Our panel will explore the benefits and challenges of XP values such as communication, simplicity or courage and practices such as pair programming, refactoring, test-driven development (TDD) or collective code ownership. Based on the experiences of our speakers, we will ask how these values and practices have evolved and whether (and how) they continue to foster productivity and quality in modern development teams.

Come prepared to challenge assumptions and leave with a deeper understanding of how to navigate the complexities in software development in an agile way.
