Compared to a few years ago, developing applications is cheaper and more “commoditized”. We have programming languages with strong ecosystems of libraries, normalized the use of cloud, converged to sharing AI algoritms as a service, and exploited generative AI to save coding time. This changes how companies develop products and reshapes skills like prototyping. This talk reviews implications and examples at the technical and organizational levels.
