The birth of Quantum Physics in the early 20th century gave rise to all modern technology. This first “Quantum Revolution” made use of the most basic concepts in quantum physics. In the coming decades, a second quantum revolution (Quantum 2.0), using much more advanced quantum physics, will dramatically change the way we do science and technology, with dramatic implications for the economy and national security. In his talk, Prof. Jarillo-Herrero will discuss a new generation of quantum materials with the potential to revolutionize quantum simulations, quantum sensing, and AI applications
